HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DRY?
That’s a good question. Dry time is relative based upon soil load and how deeply the carpets need to be cleaned. A lightly soiled carpet may take 1-2 hours, and a heavily soiled Sacramento Carpet Restoration For Really Dirty Carpet may take 12-24 hours. If you have deep pet odor spots that need sub-surface treatment, those areas may take up to 48 hours to dry. Also, outside temperature and humidity will play a part with how quickly your carpets will dry.
During the carpet cleaning process, once a room is complete, we will add an air mover to quickly dry your carpet. Under normal circumstances the first room we start cleaning is already dry by the time of job completion which is about 1-2 hours. The reason why our carpet cleaning service provides a fast dry time is simple, but not often followed. For one, we don’t over-saturate your carpet. We use low pressure and high heat. The high heat cleaning solution we use evaporates very quickly. We also provide extra extraction passes, which also removes more moisture from your carpet. Next, we use air movers to help aid in further evaporation. Lastly, we may use your air conditioner to help dehumidify your home to remove the moisture from the air.
What to do after we have just cleaned your carpet? Truth be told, if foot traffic is reduced or eliminated during the drying process, your carpet will dry faster. That’s because when you step on moist carpet, it pushes the pyle down which slows down evaporation. If carpet is standing straight up, the moisture easily wicks up and evaporates with ease. What we recommend is if you have to step on your carpet, groom for your footsteps out with a carpet rake. We can sell you one, and we have also seen them for sale at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Lastly, we can leave a couple pairs of shoe covers to help you keep your carpet clean during the drying process.
